About PixelPress

A fast, private image resizer that never uploads your files.

Why we built PixelPress

Almost everyone has hit the same wall: a form that demands an image "under 100KB", a photo that's five megabytes too big, an upload that fails with no explanation. The usual fixes mean downloading heavy software or handing your private photos to a random website that uploads them to who-knows-where.

PixelPress was built to solve that properly. It targets an exact file size, keeps the best possible quality, and does all of it without uploading anything.

Private by design

Every image you add is processed inside your own browser using the Canvas API. There is no server in the loop, so your files simply cannot leak from us — we never receive them in the first place. That makes PixelPress a good fit for ID documents, personal photos and confidential graphics.

How it works under the hood

For JPG and WebP, PixelPress runs a binary search across quality settings, measuring the real encoded size each time, to find the sharpest image that fits your limit. When quality alone isn't enough, it carefully reduces the dimensions. For PNG, which is lossless, it resizes to reach smaller targets and suggests WebP or JPG when you need to go much smaller.

Free and open to everyone

There's no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The tool works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile, and even keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
